I have fond memories of cookie making with my mom as a kid. Mom’s cookies were PERFECT, as was the amount of frosting-licking and laughs that went along with the baking itself. 

As a mom myself, I enjoy passing this love for the kitchen on to my own kids. As a mom myself, I’m also learning how much longer it takes to bake with kids… The measuring takes longer, the messes are bigger, the frosting is stickier, but the memories are sweeter. Mom’s Sugar Cookie Recipe

2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 Cup Crisco
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons soda
4 cups flour
½ teaspoon salt

Cream together sugar & Crisco,then add eggs,vanilla& buttermilk. Mix well & add dry ingredients. If dough is not real stiff-refrigerate for 1 hour. Roll out and use extra flour. Bake 350 for 12-15 min.  Frost with your favorite icing and decorate.
