For it’s ONE, TWO, THREE strikes, you’re out at the ol’ ball game! Growing up, I have great memories of visiting baseball fields with my parents. The crack of the bat, the smell of peanuts, the joy in the air. There is nothing quite like the exuberance that goes along with an in-person seat at a baseball game. Now there are books for kids that can allow you to feel the excitement of the game from the comfort of your home. Well, one book at least. Check it out!

Books for Kids… And Dads!

Baseball is Back: Dads, Daughters, and Baseball is a wonderfully written book by Michael Turner. For fathers that love baseball and want to share that adoration with their daughters, this book for kids is for you! At our house, we love the fascinating illustrations of the book that bring America’s past time to life. We also love the rich baseball vocabulary and the conversation that comes along with it. Just in time for Father’s Day and ready to gift to new dads for baby showers and birthdays, this is a wonderful book to add to anyone’s collection!

Books for Kids: For the Baseball Loving Family

The St. Louis Cardinals were the team my parents cheered for. So, respectfully, I became a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Cheers mom and dad! The friendly banter that comes about from cheering on different teams is only half the fun. No matter what your team colors may be and no matter which stadiums you prefer, one thing is certain; Stadium hot dogs are the best on the planet. During a recent wedding weekend, we took in the crowd of a neighboring baseball stadium and enjoyed the gourmet options that the nearby street vendors had to offer.

Books for Kids: Watching a Book Come to Life

The best part about a quality children’s book like Baseball is Back is that the stories can easily come to life through print and pictures. Whether you read the book as a precursor to your first stadium visit or read together as a review of a wonderful trip to cheer on dad’s favorite team, it will be a well loved tradition.
