Homemade Latte Recipe & Coffee Giveaway

**Coffee giveaway in this post!** In a sad realization that I could fund a child’s college tuition with what I was spending at coffee shops, I decided it was time to make a small change. And by small, perhaps I should say a Venti change? {Eh? Eh? See what I did there?} I now make my own homemade lattes and they are easy, yummy, & doable. See for yourself! Why I Make My Own Cost. Gone are the days of swinging through the drive-through and dropping $5 on my beloved grande Vanilla Latte, my medium Northern Lite Latte, or my venti Cafe Latte....

Make Something Monday:: Mommy Mojitos

As the weather begins to warm, and the snow begins to melt, it can only mean one thing…. IT’S TIME FOR A NEW MOJITO RECIPE! I ran across this print on Etsy, from Sweet Clementine Print Shop, which inspired me to spice our Sunday afternoon up a bit! We invited friends over, christened our “deck drinking” for the first time of the season, and had a blast! Ingredients limes, your favorite coconut rum, club soda, sugar, mint leaves Put 10 mint leaves and 1 lime wedge in a glass, and muddle to release flavors Add 2 lime wedges and 2...

Make Something Monday:: Lemon Crumb Muffins

Our house has recently gone through a muffin testing phase where we’ve been cooking all of the muffin recipes we could get our hands on, in order to create a list of “go to’s.” This one was voted 5/5 from my little family and has most definitely been added to the make again list!! Coming to us from Taste of Lizzy T, this easy to put together and DELICIOUS Lemon Crumb Muffins recipe is one that I’ve done several times with my kids. We love recipes that are simple enough to allow for kids in the kitchen yet sophisticated enough to feed guests...

Make Something Monday:: Grandma’s Homemade Noodles

Homemade noodles always seem like a daunting task. A time consuming, “only for grandmas, but not for young moms,” overwhelming, daunting task. Then, I remembered that I’m not actually as young as I think I am. And also, they aren’t as scary as they seem… And get easier (and more comfortable) with each attempt. What you need: 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk dash of salt 2 Tbsp milk or cream 2 cups flour What you do: Beat eggs, milk/ cream, and salt together Stir egg mixture in with flour Put mixture on floured board, working in additional flour until stiff...

Make Something Monday:: EASY Sugar Cookies

I always read recipes that claim “easy” and then look through their 89 ingredients and 401 steps before humming the “Liar, liar, pants on fire” tune in my brain. In scouring for cookies that my littles could help with, I found a gift from Pinterest! These Sugar Cookies from Inspired Dreamer. They really are simple, they really do have a limited amount of ingredients as far as baking goes, (Full disclosure: Cream of Tarter is included, and I did have to purchase that), and they DO involve sprinkles. Which is an absolute bonus for your tiniest bakers. Enjoy!!

A Must-Add-Martini to your drink collection!

For the first time since our honeymoon, hubby and I snuck away for a long weekend in Seattle last summer. I’m still holding onto the memories of that amazing weekend, full of adult drinks, leisurely adult talks, adult drinks, uninterrupted sleeps that didn’t involve tiny humans in our bed, adult drinks, and ADULT DRINKS.  Oh, and I almost forgot to mention. Seattle offered some amazing adult drinks.  At one of the many restaurants at Pike Place Market, I saw The Last Irresistible on the drink menu and thought I would give it a try. A few (plus/ minus 10) drinks later, and we...

Make Something Monday:: Taco Seasoning

Taco Tuesday is a weekly event at our house. It is something my kids rely on and look forward to with big appetites! Add water to your desired consistency. 1/2 Tbsp chili powder 1 1/2 tsp cumin 1 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp paprika 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp oregano Try it today and let me know what you...

Make Something Monday:: {Easy & Delicious} Homemade Apple Crisp

A cool crip air engulfs us, the smells of pumpkin spice and cinnamon surrounds us, and the sight of beautiful earth tones and bright oranges & reds is all we see. Fall is here! We took our annual trip to the apple orchard {okay, okay, you caught me, we have already visited the orchards FOUR times in the past month!}. Is that a problem? Between playing in the corn pit, my husband trying to navigate us through the corn maze, pony rides, petting zoos, and apple picking, all I can really think about is LET’S GET HOME SO I CAN START MAKING SOMETHING WITH...

How I turned into a “Home Cookin'” Kind of Mom

I am a full time working mother of three…. You think I have hours to spend over boiling pots and meat thermometers?? HECK, NO. I don’t even own a meat thermometer. My style of cooking has always been to rotate between store bought taco shells, frozen pizza and hot dogs. Hey, I’m technically cooking each of these things, so I AM a home cook. Right?? Then, one day, I gave birth to my beautiful little allergy baby. The one whose system is far too precious for the likes of eggs or dairy. I remember going to Whole Foods for the first time...

Who likes saving money at Starbucks??

I like my Caramel Brulee Latte and Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks just as much as the next person, but love saving $5 a day even more thanks to my recent find on Pinterest….. Homemade Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha Latte! I pinned this awhile back but let’s be honest, who actually tries the things they pin??  I decided to ring in the new year by DOING a few things instead of just pinning them, never to be looked at again.  So far, my “doing” streak has proven fruitful.  Check out this great (and easy!!!!) recipe from Diethood.com.  Click on the picture below...
